Edvantage terms of use

This is an interim version of our terms of use. Fuller terms will replace it.

These are the rules for using our website, our IELTS platform (ielts.edvantage.me) and your Edvantage ID account.

Who we are

Edvantage is Edvantage Educational Consultancy Services Co. W.L.L., Commercial Registration No. 385438, a Kuwaiti education company. Approved by Kuwait's Ministry of Higher Education (MOHE/12/E/121).

Using the platform fairly

• One account is for one person. Do not share it, and keep your password private.
• Do not let someone else take a test for you, or use outside help during a timed test unless your teacher allows it.
• Do not copy, record, share or post our test questions, audio or answers.
• Do not try to get into accounts or systems that are not yours.
• Do not choose a leaderboard nickname that is offensive or shows personal details.

Our tests and materials belong to Edvantage or to people who let us use them, for your own practice only. We may suspend or close an account that breaks these terms.

The mock and its bands

Your account includes a free full IELTS mock: Listening, Reading, Writing and Speaking, with Writing and Speaking marked and a readiness report.

Reading and Listening are marked automatically. Writing and Speaking are marked by AI against the published IELTS band descriptors, and a qualified teacher reviews any script where the marking is uncertain. We are measuring how closely our marks agree with certified IELTS examiners, and we will publish the result whatever it shows. Your Writing and Speaking bands are shown straight away. A teacher may check them after that and can change them.

• Our mock is a practice test made by Edvantage. A band from it is our estimate, not an official IELTS result, and cannot be used as one.
• It is not run or endorsed by the British Council, IDP: IELTS Australia or Cambridge University Press & Assessment, which own IELTS.
• We do not promise you will get the same band in the official test.
• Your essays and recordings stay yours. We use them as our privacy notice explains, and not to train AI.

School accounts

If your school created your account or gave you a class code, your teachers can see the tests they set you, your progress and your results, and can change your Speaking band after it is published. We record every change.

Students under 18

If you are under 18, please use our services only with your parent's or guardian's permission.

Study abroad counselling

Our counsellors give you guidance. Universities and visa authorities make their own decisions, so we cannot guarantee a place or a visa. You are responsible for making sure the information and documents you give us are true and complete.

Our responsibility

We provide our services with reasonable care and skill. We may change them or take them offline for maintenance. We are not responsible for losses we could not reasonably foresee, or that come from things outside our control, such as internet failures. Nothing in these terms limits a responsibility that the law does not let us limit.

Changes to these terms

When we change these terms, we update the date at the top, and if a change matters to you, we will tell you.

Law

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Kuwait. If you have a problem, please contact us first so we can try to solve it together.
